Dan,
I am sending you another picture of four boats at our dock in DaNang.I took this picture while I was on watch on a weekend.  I had to do this in secret because picture taking was forbidden on the base. jpg (24812 bytes)
I did manage to scan two PBR photos that I will attempt to send you.

Dan,
I found a couple of pictures that you might want to add to your collection of PTF boats. I also found a picture of PTF 17 and 18 that were in storage in Subic Bay that we maintained in the event they were needed. I will send that picture later if you desire to have it. I probable will find other interesting pictures as I go through my military pictures.

I would like to say that the two tours that I did in DaNang were outstanding tours. We had the best people that I have every work with, and that include the officers down to the seaman. No matter what the job was, everybody pulled together to get it DONE. While doing my two tours, not one mission was canceled for any boat problems.
Also, Dan, I want to thank you for this site because I have already met somebody on the net that we served together in 1968.

Dan,
I was surfing the net this evening, and I made a hit on your page concerning the PTF boats of Vietnam. I served two hitches with the unit in Da Nang that was attached to the U. S. Naval Advisory Detachment as a radar technician which consisted of boat crews, naval seals, and Vietnam special units trained by the seals. All of the operation was directed by SOG (Special Operation Group). If you like, I can send send you several pictures of the boats.

I also served a tour in Subic Bay with another one our detachment to repair the PTF boats or swift boats that were attached to our group. Our mother unit was Boat Support Unit One stationed in Coronado, Calif.
